By listening to the covers ...
Records covers were often regarded as the " detonator " for the listening or the purchase of a vinyl. Who does not have in memory an unforgettable record and of course also the memory of his famous cover. The Anglo-Saxons use the word " Covers " which appears very adapted. It is well the cover which one will look at in first time and with which one almost will be identified while listening to his music. The universe of the record (vinyl, of course...) is so vast that many creators graphic designers, photographers, amateurs gave free course to their imagination. If one is interested for example in the kinds psychedelic, punk, progressive, etc, one realizes that splendid covers were carried out. For my part, I am a fan of comics for a very long time and it is by chance that I discovered, there are about fifteen years, certain records covers drawn by authors of comics. I knew their existence but I had not been attracted. And then all went very quickly, as for any collection. I started to seek with passion. And of secondhand trades in vacuum - attics, of records'shops in small advertisements, I succeeded in constituting my cave of Ali Baba. Naturally, I miss hundreds of parts but it would not be funny if there were nothing any more to pick up .... Yet, certain names will not say anything to you; they will be those of illustrators, musicians or painters whom I have, in a very subjective way, I recognize it, " built-in " in this list. Their drawings approach so much the world of comics or are truly that one could not be unaware of them. Of course, this collection is personal and its criteria of constitution are it still more... However, I hope to make you discover certain achievements even if they do not carry the mark of a known signature. Then, if you are interested, come to discover some beautiful known covers or less known whose authors filled with enthusiasm you by their comics and their feature and who, for the " Covers ", sometimes exceeded themselves...
